Fire Extinguishers

Properly maintained portable fire extinguishers are a vital part of a balanced fire protection system and your first line of defense during the early stages of a fire.

Properly trained personnel increase the ability to minimize damage to your business and possibly even extinguish the fire. Falls Fire & Safety specializes in the maintenance of portable fire extinguishers as well as the sale and installation of portable fire extinguishers for businesses like yours.

We offer Fire Extinguishers ranging from 2.5lb hand portable units to 350lb portable wheeled units. Proper placement, size and type of each fire extinguisher is vital for adequate protection.

Our fire protection specialists can perform site surveys to analyze the hazards that are present. We will make recommendations as to what type of fire extinguisher you should have, where they should be located, and the required quantities.
PERSONNEL:  We are members of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and NAFED (National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors), and our service technicians are NFPA, NAFED, and factory trained, equipping them with information to keep your facility up to current codes and regulations.

MOBILE SERVICE:  Fire extinguishers will be serviced in one of our Mobile Work Shops at your site. Thus, you will have no loss of fire protection or loss of employee time bringing the fire extinguishers to our shop.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING:  We offer fire extinguisher which ranges from videotapes, lectures, to hands-on live fire training. These classes are customized to the hazards that may be found at your facility.

Kitchen Hood Systems

Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Systems are specifically designed to suppress fires in commercial kitchen appliances, exhaust hood and ductwork.  Each appliance type, exhaust hood, and ductwork has specific design parameters that must be followed for the system to properly suppress the fire over each kitchen appliance. Kitchen hood fire suppression systems use a wet chemical to suppress the fire and are activated by automatic or manual means. 

Kitchen hood fire suppression hood systems consist of four major components: container to store the liquid chemical suppression agent; fuel shut off devices; actuation system operated manually or automatically; and an agent distribution system which delivers the agent from the tank through the distribution piping to the hazard areas.

Early Warning Smoke Detection

Early Warning Smoke Detectors are equal to and often better than a human in detecting fire. These systems use a highly discriminating detection chamber. Early Warning Smoke Detectors are wall-mounted extra-sensitive smoke detection units that are connected to as many as four zones of sampling pipes in each detector. Holes of pre-determined sizes are drilled into CPVC sampling pipe. An aspirator in the detection unit draws air samples from the holes along each sampling pipe into the detection chamber.

The Early Warning Smoke Detection concept works by continually drawing ambient air through sample points in a pipe network. Upon entering the unit the sampled air is filtered via the dual-stage filter, then it is passed into the detection chamber where light scattering technology detects the presence of very small amounts of smoke. As the amount of detected smoke increases, the LED graph provides the user with an instant understanding of a smoke event, even from a significant distance. Detector status information is communicated externally via relays or optional interface cards.

Emergency & Exit Lighting

We offer full service for Emergency and Exit Lights. These units are load tested to determine if they will operate properly when electrical power is lost for any reason. Our trained service technicians have the expertise and equipment to repair any malfunctioning units. Proper maintenance of these is necessary to insure the safe evacuation of building occupants during any emergency that causes a loss of electric power.

Leak Detection

Leak detection technology operates similar to radar. Thousands of times each minute, safe energy pulses are sent out on sensor cables. As these energy pulses travel down the cable, reflections are returned to the monitoring unit and a “map” of the reflected energy from the cable is stored in memory. The presence of liquids on the sensor cable, in sufficient quantities to “wet” the cable, will alter its electrical properties. This alteration will cause a change of the reflection at that location. When the panel recognizes a change, it enters into alarm mode and displays the location of the liquid.
